december three

today's activity from  my yet-to-be-made calendar? enjoy the amazing weather. good thing i haven't made the calendar yet. there is no way i could have predicted what we did. 

we didn't even go home after school we went straight to absolute bagels. the kids had a plain bagel with strawberry cream cheese. i had the whole wheat with plain cream cheese.

i even shared with mim.

simon and may had so much fun looking at all the decorations and pointing out every new thing they noticed. the tree! the penguin! the berries! (beaded garland) snow!

then we went to the playground at tot lot 117. i haven't been there in so long. it was good to be back in the old neighborhood.

and i really enjoyed the sunset behind all the bare branches.

after the playground we walked over to columbia campus to see the lights on the trees. it's always so pretty. thank you, corinne, for the picture.

i love the idea of having an advent calendar and really taking time to plan things to do with the kids. and i love the flexibility of not actually having one, but pretending everything we do is all part of the plan.
