december one. countdown begins

this is where a picture of our new advent calendar should be. that is, if i had been on the ball and made it a month ago. i bought the supplies. but i bought the wrong size of an integral tool. now i'm waiting for the correct item to arrive in the mail. then you will see a picture of the calendar. instead, look at this.

day one on the advent calendar was supposed to be: meet mario the magician. it wasn't though, because the calendar hasn't been made. but we went anyway. first saturday of the month is meet the artist day at the david rubenstein atrium at lincoln center. today is the first saturday of december, and mario the magician had a free performance. it was perfect.

seriously, if i had money, i'd hire this guy. and maybe someday i will. mario, you were fantastic!

that was supposed to be our activity for the day. but since i don't have a calendar to help pace things out we jumped the gun. we did this...

and then, to finish the day up, we completed day one on the advent calendars that didn't require any sort of craftiness on my part.
