cleaning the park

our church organized a service project to clean our local park. i wasn't planning on going until i realized i need to teach simon about service. i didn't have to twist his arm. cleaning the park sounded like fun to him. (thank you team umizoomi for having an episode about fixing/cleaning a playground that simon just happened to watch the day before we cleaned a park.)

digging is hard to do.

simon loved this grabber/picker-upper thing. i don't think he was strong enough to use it properly, but he sure bawled when someone else was playing with it instead of him. how much longer will service be fun for him?
