i've been thinking about the highline a lot recently. i knew i needed to go back, soon. and since i was in the area i also needed to go back to the doughnut plant. one of these is my favorite place in the city. can you tell which one?
you can't see it very well, but there are pillows on the wall. each pillow represents and looks like one of their doughnuts. love it. i've only ever had the tres leches, seeing as that is my favorite kind of cake. i was adventurous today. i got simon the black out, which i was more than happy to help him finish, and i got a hazelnut chocolate dough seed and coconut cream doughnut to take home and share with robert. and i did. what restraint.
i mean it when i say i helped simon finish his doughnut. he is finally learning to stop when he's had enough, even if it is rich chocolate. really, that's something that i can't even do. he'd had so much that he was disgusted at the thought of a bite of liam's chocolate doughnut. seriously? and thank you liam, that was very nice.
here's a wonderfully overexposed pic of our crew. it was too late to make adjustments by the time i realized it. they had all caught up. it's hard to remember to change the camera settings all the time. a few of us brought scooters, which ended up being really great since it was a three block walk from the subway. simon took off with truman and hid. liam ran to find them.

simon had kind of a tough day. he loves truman. there's no denying that. but this kid is so sensitive to anything tru says. i love how concerned liam is for simon. his face says it all. but after a while the boys were scooting off together again. and fighting again. and playing again. and fighting again. maybe simon shouldn't have doughnuts in the morning anymore.

i begged simon to sit down in front of the tulips so that i had a picture of more than just flowers. it really didn't work. it works if i put the pictures together though, right?
