i tried to do as much free holiday stuff as i could in new york before we left for utah. grand central terminal had a holiday market, a light show, and a train display. sadly i remembered the times for the light show wrong and we missed it. rachel came with us, which led to simon getting a new plush rabbit for christmas.
why is it that the new york transportation museum (in brooklyn) has a gift shop at grand central? i've heard the actual museum is great for little kids, but i don't get to brooklyn very often. at least at christmas time there is a huge train display at the gift shop. simon loved it.

i can't believe all the detail in the display. we will definitely go back next year. also, next year, we plan on being in new york for more of the holiday season, and we can go to many more events.(december 17, 2010)

You MUST go to the transit museum. My dad's used to work across the street (at the Jay St. MTA building) and we would go for "Take Your Daughters to Work Day". Simon will LOVE it!
