one month and more

Simon went to the dr a week ago and I wonder how much it is going to cost for the dr to look at Simon's penis and say it looks good and we don't need to put vaseline on any more. I do think this was the first time Simon did NOT pee on the dr. I guess the dr didn't give him much time to try though. We did however change 2 poopy diapers while we were there. So we did leave a couple of presents for the nurse to clean up. They also completed Simon's PKU test ( I don't really know what that is). They had to prick his foot and rub the blood on some form that gets mailed to the state. I'm sure Simon will pass. Also, Simon weighs in at 8lb 13 oz as of last week. Who knows what he weighs now.

I wanted to to post on Simon's one month day, but at least I got pictures. Simon started wearing gdiapers one day before his month mark. I hear there is a learning curve to using them, and boy would I like to figure it out. I've already had to wash the "little g" covers twice because he keeps leaking out of them. But I'm NOT giving up. We will make these work. I believe this first picture is the first day he wore gdiapers.

And I think this picture is on his one-month birthday.

And this picture is the closest Robert will ever get to nursing Simon.

He actually left a little hickey on Robert's nose. I should have got a picture of that too.

we tried so hard to make the g-diapers work. the multiple blow-outs per day will not end.

Hey, I looked at the gdiapers website, and I was super impressed! I'm thinking of using them (once I get a baby, of course), so you'll have to keep me updated if they end up working out for you guys. I try not to use a lot of packaging, plastic bags, and I compost my vegetable peelings and kitchen crap, so I'm a bit disgusted by the idea of throwing away millions of little poop-filled plastic diapers.
