monster party

one of robert's friends from byu law school invited simon to his son's third birthday party. i was really impressed.

they first took turn unwrapping packages with "monster claws". inside were squishy monster balls. then it was time to change into water clothes.

they brought out water guns to shoot these monster balloons (or other people). simon wasn't too sure what to do at first, but then he got the hang of it, and wouldn't quit.  they also soaked the squishy balls in tubs of water and used those as water cannons.

robert and mim hung out in the shade.

i loved the food. i've made themed birthday cakes before, but this certainly goes several steps beyond that. i loved it.
