weather permits

for those of you who aren't familiar with utah spring time, let me fill you in. in the past week and a half it has snowed twice. i mean real snow too. several inches each time. but in between snow storms it gets warm. the inches of snow melt away the next day. today, the high reached somewhere in the sixties, and it was sunny. mind you, it is supposed to snow again in two days. i took advantage of the warm spring air while i could, and got out of the house.

wouldn't you know that one of the things simon was most interested was the ice that was left over in the shade. he really likes to walk in the snow.

then simon saw the cat.


i think this next picture is so funny. just look at the cat's face.




he really liked this cat. and it was so friendly. there were several kids at the park and the cat walked right up to them. it wasn't hungry either, just wanted to be pet. simon was the at the front of the crowd. then he grabbed the cat's tail. and it left. later he tried to hug the cat. it wasn't too excited about being squished. but simon was definitely most excited about the friendly feline at the park.

just before we left, simon found a branch from a pine tree that still had needles attached. and he thought he would help the local parks and recreation department keep this particular park clean.
